These books tell the story of a thief, a pyre-angel, and the magical, disappearing grimcats.

Thirteen-year-old Samti is the thief. She lives somewhere in East Africa, I am not allowed to say exactly where, but it is up in some high mountains and near a deep forest.

Samti has a happy and peaceful life, if a little bit illegal. But she must watch out. The grimcats are coming! With the grimcats come some seriously dangerous criminals. And after them come the pyre-angels . . .
